Loch Ness
Local proprietors Ian and Barbara Taylor welcome you to Graineag Bed and Breakfast in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. We are situated in Glenmoriston on the A887, the main route between Loch Ness and Isle of Skye.
The Graineag, which is Gaelic for Hedgehog, is a modern, bright, welcoming 'Home from Home' and is set among hills and woods with an abundance of wildlife. A pleasant and easy walk to the River Moriston brings you to where otters can sometimes be seen. The Glen is ideal for those who love wildlife and the great outdoors.
Fishing permits are available locally.
The Highland capital of Inverness, Aviemore and the Cairngorms are 1 hours drive to the east, where there are also a number of distilleries and the famous Whisky Trail. Fort William and Ben Nevis are within an easy 1 hours drive to the west.
The enchanting and mysterious Loch Ness is within 10 minutes drive, where boat trips on the Loch are available. Fort Augustus, about 20 minutes drive to the south, is well worth visiting to watch the boats going through the famous Caledonian Canal, and is recommended for it's excellent pubs and restaurants.
There are many historic castles, walks and cycle routes to explore in the surrounding area.
Fishing, golfing and sailing are also available or, if you prefer, hill-walking and Munroes for the hiking enthusiast.
